Reitman Sealcoating, Inc. is a family owned blacktop paving, sealcoating and driveway repair company based at 135 West Hills Road in Huntington Station. We serve homeowners and commercial properties across Nassau and Suffolk counties, and we have served more than 14,000 Long Island customers. Also known as Reitman Blacktop.

Bob Reitman, President and Founder

Bob Reitman started in the paving and sealcoating trade in 1977. More than four decades later he still runs the company and supervises every job personally: he looks at the driveway, writes the quote, and is on site when the crews do the work. That is the reason the company has the reputation it has. A customer deals with the owner, not a salesman. Bob’s view of the work has not changed in 49 years. A driveway is only as good as the base under it, sealer belongs on a driveway by hand with a brush and not out of a spray wand, and a customer should be told honestly whether a repair will do or the driveway needs to be replaced. Many of the driveways we are called to look at can be saved, and we say so.

How We Work

We come to you. There is no showroom or walk-in office: every job is quoted, agreed and done at your home or job site. Call (631) 549-5455 or request a free written quote, and a member of our experienced staff will visit, look at the driveway or parking lot, and give you a written quote based on what it actually needs. We will gladly provide references or arrange for you to see a job we are working on near you. Once your job is done, your name goes on our maintenance mailing program, and we will contact you periodically about scheduled upkeep. For a new driveway that means the first coat of sealer one year after paving, then every two years after that. We are open seven days a week, 9 am to 5 pm. Our Crews

All of the work is done by our own crews with our own equipment; we do not subcontract the paving, sealcoating, patching or masonry.

• Paving crew: 5 to 7 men
• Excavation and base installation crew: 3 to 4 men
• Sealcoat crews: 2 to 3 men each
• Mason crew: 2 to 3 men
• Line striping: our own crew with three striping machines

• Dynapac CC-10 5 ton asphalt roller and Dynapac 1 ton vibratory asphalt rollers
• Two Case 450 excavators with grader boxes
• Altec asphalt milling machine
• Caterpillar 236D skid steer loaders
• 4 ton hot box asphalt trailers, which keep the asphalt at working temperature so we can hot patch year round
• Interstate equipment trailers

What We Do

• Sealcoating: STAR-SEAL, applied by hand with brushes, never sprayed.
• Blacktop paving: driveways and parking lots on a 4 to 5 inch compacted recycled concrete aggregate base, with 2 inches of NYSDOT Type 7 asphalt on driveways.
• Hot patching: sawcut, tacked and compacted hot asphalt repairs, done year round.
• Driveway repairs: potholes, broken edges, sunken sections and cracks.
• Masonry, Belgian block and stonework: aprons, borders, walkways and paving stones installed with the driveway.
